I Did It: Ped Egg

June 9th, 2008 by sarah

I have some pretty gnarly calluses on my heels, thanks to my refusal to wear shoes, and I’ve never really found anything to make them go away.  I’ve used pumice stones, foot files, foot scrubs, callus lotions, but nothing seems to work.  My feet must be pretty bad, because when it’s cold at night I like to tuck my feet under my husband’s, but he always squirms away because of my rough heels.

I always see the Ped Egg in drug stores, but I’ve always turned my nose up at it, mainly because it has that huge ‘As seen on TV” sign on the box.  But, I finally caved in this weekend and bought one when I found it on sale at the Grocery Outlet for $6.99.

I used it for the first time last night and I was surprised how easy and painless it was.  I read all of the directions (something I recommend doing) and started to slough away.  You glide it over your (dry) feet in up and down motions, checking your feet every now and then to see the results.  Once my feet felt soft, I stopped using it and quickly removed the file so I could see all the shavings that came off my foot.  I was disgusted and proud all at the same time after opening the egg and seeing all the white shavings.  I quickly ran down to show my husband who thought it looked like Parmesan cheese and made me take it away.

My rough feet were so smooth, I hardly recognized them.  My husband even decided to partake in the Ped Egg later that night to remove a callus on the ball of his foot.  I’ve never seen him work so hard before and he claimed he wanted it removed so I would rub his feet (his callus is so thick and gross).  After rubbing for awhile, he stopped to check his results and was very disappointed to see that his shavings didn’t amount to mine; I don’t know if that is a bad thing or not.

So, I have to give kudos to the Ped Egg and I encourage everyone to go out and buy one for sandal season.  Scotty even let me nestle my cold feet under his last night :) .

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
