MAC Cool Heat

June 30th, 2008 by sarah

MAC is forever coming up with new and fabulous makeup collections, but the one that has caught my eye this summer is the Cool Heat collection.

I love how the colors in the collection are so wearable, yet fun at the same time.  The lipstick colors in the collection are sheer washes of fruity colors and the eye shadows remind me of different shades of the ocean.  Normally I wouldn’t think of purchasing a fragrance by MAC, but the Turquatic Heat sounds like something I would love to spritz on me on a hot summer night.

Here are my picks from the collection:

Slimshine lipstick in swelter and tropic glow…unfortunately I couldn’t find a picture, but if you click here you can check out how fabulous the colors are for yourself.  The thing I love most about this lipstick is the slim design of the tube and the fact that the colors are sheer.  I think lipstick is a bit of a faux pas in the summer unless it’s on the sheer side.

Eyeshadow in gulf stream…I love, love, love all the shadows in this collection, but the gulf stream is the one that caught my eye.  All these colors would look great during the day applied with just a wash of color, or you could layer them on for a more sultry look at night.

Creations Hue (aka perfume) in Turquatic Heat…after reading the descriptions of the two perfumes, I decided that the Turquatic Heat was more up my alley.  I love a perfume with a sensual notes, and this one had it, but my favorite thing was that it has lotus flower in it.

So, I have to give it up to MAC for creating another great collection.  Cool Heat is wearable by everyone and no matter what your taste, there is something that you can pick and choose from this collection.

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
