Lux Volume
I’m going to start off this post by apologizing for my almost 6-day absence…I have not neglected my blog for this many days, ever. Let’s just say life kicked in, but I’m back and ready to share my thoughts on beauty!!
If you don’t know this already, I have fine hair that has the tendency to look really good when I put some effort into it. The only problem is that my hair doesn’t stay bouncy and beautiful all day; it generally goes a bit limp. I’ve heard that root lifters do wonders for fine hair, but I never purchased one because I couldn’t find a cheap version.
Now don’t get me wrong, I spend my fair share on products, but that’s sort of the problem…I have so many and not all of them worked to my liking so now I’m a bit more cautious with some of my hair care purchases. I had seen an add for the new John Frieda Volume collection in a magazine which made my eyebrows raise. Not only do I like the John Frieda line, but it’s also sold at my favorite stores…Target and Walgreens.
I had to go into Walgreens the day before my LA trip, a few weeks ago, to pick up some things so I used this perfect opportunity to purchase the Luxurious Volume Lavish Lift Root Booster (that’s a mouth full) by John Frieda. I’m happy to report that the bottle was huge and less than $5, I was already hopeful.
I used the root lifter the day I was to go shopping in Beverly Hills and West Hollywood (hello, David!) and decided I needed fabulously glam hair. I concentrated the spray on my roots and then flipped my head over to give the hair underneath a spray and then I continued to blow dry my hair. The first thing I noticed was that it was a bit more difficult to move my brush through my hair, but I also noticed that my hair was looking thicker the more it dried. After my hair was completely dry, I brushed it out, did a few sweeps with the flat iron and I was left staring at my beautifully coiffed hair. I’m not lying, this stuff worked. I had volume, body, bounce and shine.
I thought that my hair would start to flatten as the shopping journey went on, but it didn’t, and I actually had a hard time not staring at myself as I walked by windows (something that probably went unnoticed in LA). The long day of shopping ended with an amazing dinner on the waterfront and a complement by David, “You have really good hair.”
Ahem, enough said.

Well, as another fine-haired gal, I simply have to buy it now.
