POW! Hot Pink Lips

I like color, but for the most part I like to keep my makeup looking a bit natural.  But, for whatever reason I am in love with Alexis Bledel’s hot pink pout.

The thing about her look is that you first think ‘pretty’ before you think ‘hot pink lipstick’.  Alexis is a bit of a natural beauty herself; I never see her taking huge risks with her makeup, but her hot pink lipstick is really working for her.

The reason is works is because the rest of her makeup is so simple.  She has on a bit of bronzer, a little peach blush and a line of black eyeliner…and that’s it, besides her pink lips.  The whole look makes her blue eyes pop against her fair skin, I love it, I think it’s fun, young and modern.

The great thing is that anyone can wear this look.  Just pick a shade that matches your coloring and the best bet is to go to a place like Sephora or Ulta where you can try before you buy.  Or, take a trip to your local drugstore to buy a cheap version of the trend.  I personally would go with a matte lip, like Alexis, but you can also wear a shimmery pink, a sheer pink or a glossy pink.  Just make sure it pops and that the rest of your look is simple.
