Slowly Put Down That Other Mineral Powder…

August 18th, 2008 by sarah

…so you don’t make a mess!

Alright ladies, and I’m talking to all of you out there, even the ones who have still not tried mineral makeup…I have a new mineral foundation powder that will put all the others to shame.

Last week I ran over to Ulta after work to get some more foundation powder.  I’ve been using Bare Minerals for a few months now and was about to run out so I needed a replacement.  Even on the drive over to the store I was still not sure if I was going to repurchase Bare Minerals again.  I haven’t been thrilled with the length of time it takes to apply and the amount of product you actually need so you’ll get decent coverage, not to mention how messy it is and how hard it is to travel with.  I’ve also find that the powder has a bit of an orange tint to it, which I do not like at all.  The one good thing I found with BM is that it has helped to keep my face healthy and clear.  I have had significant fewer breakouts since I started using BM.  But, I wasn’t for sure if this was enough for a repurchase, so I decided to look around.

I was hoping to find another mineral makeup powder, but since BM was my first I wasn’t for sure what else was really out there.  I ran upon a mineral line called Pur Minerals and I instantly got interested because their foundation powder was in a compact which generally equals less mess and more coverage.  At that exact time a salesperson asked if I needed help (hello, Kayla if you’re reading) and I began to bombard her with a bunch of questions.  The first thing that I liked was the fact that she wore Pur Minerals and her face looked flawless with no orange at all in her skin (she has fair skin, like me).  I basically told her all the woes I had with BM and told her what I was looking for in a mineral makeup and she told me I would find all that and more with Pur Minerals.  I asked her to apply the makeup to me for a color match and the application looked flawless and matched my skin tone perfectly.  I decided to get the foundation and it turned out that the whole line was buy one get one free (hurry, this might still be going on).  How lucky was I that day?  So, I decided to get another foundation and walked out of there for $24.

I’ve been using the foundation for about a week now and I’m in love, full on love.  My face looks flawless, it’s super easy to use and apply (I use my Kubuki brush and concealer brush during application), the coloring is perfect and it lasts all day and it’s been great at absorbing oil.  I also love the fact that Pur Minerals is a 4-1 foundation:  powder, foundation, concealer and SPF 15.

Here’s a bit more information that you might like to know:

  • Pür Minerals mineral makeup foundation does not contain harsh chemical dyes, talc, alcohol or preservatives.
  • 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation includes Titanium and Zinc, which provide an all-natural barrier from the elements.
  • Pür Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation Is easy to use without the traditional mess of other makeup products.
  • Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is the number one mineral makeup formula recommended by plastic surgeons and dermatologists.
  • Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation is good for every skin type and condition, from oily skin to dry, mature types.
  • I’m telling you, Pur Minerals is hands down my favorite foundation powder I have ever used.  So please go out and purchase it for yourself.  I would be absolutely devastated if they went out of business!!

Thanks for the review. I finally broke down and tried BM a few months ago because all my friends raved about it, but I didn’t like it all. I couldn’t put it on well, it definitely took more time, it was messy, and it didn’t provide much coverage. I’m currently using Clinique’s new pressed powder mineral foundation, and I’m really happy with it.

[...] the love comes back my way…and in this case I’m talking about Pur Minerals finding my review and thanking me for it…and not only that but giving me my very own shout out on their site.  [...]

The 4 in 1 Pressed Powder is my favourite of all time. My sister in Ontario turned me onto it a few years ago. She was watching the Shopping Channel and asked me to watch it to see what I thought of it. She then sent me a compact of the 4 in 1 Powder and now I am hooked. She and I both love the fact that we our skin feels fresh and our pores don’t feel clogged. It’s a great product for this century…it can only get better….

    About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
