Hooray! A Color Shampoo +

March 9th, 2009 by sarah

Thanks to my color-treated locks, I am forced (by threats from my stylist) to purchase color-treated shampoo and conditioner.  I’ve gone through several different brands over the years and they all have been just kind of okay.

The thing is that my hair isn’t just color-treated, it’s also fine and damage prone.  So, even though I’d love a volumizing or anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner, I have to choose between a set that maintains my color or a set that maintains my style.

But, the other week I was pleased to see a commercial from Nexxus who has put their brains together to give us gals and maybe even some of you guys color-treated shampoos and conditioners that also offer volume, hydration and anti-breakage formulas.  So, let me introduce you to my new shampoo and conditioner, Dualiste.

It seems like a no brainer to me, but Nexxus is really one of the first to offer all the goods with a semi-budget friendly price (shampoo runs around $10 and conditioner runs about $12).  The shampoo and conditioner actually have a dual pump that disperses color-protection from one and either volume, hydration or an anti-breakage formula from the other pump.

And just a tip for those of you who really don’t want to spend a bunch of money on shampoo and conditioner…my stylist told me you really only need a color-protecting shampoo to help save your color, the conditioner is really just a bonus.  The whole reason around a color-protecting shampoo is that it’s gentle so it doesn’t strip your color.  Just a little FYI.

Right now with the state my hair is in, I’m willing to sacrifice volume for anti-breakage…maybe in my perfect world Nexxus will offer a triple pump to treat all my hair mishaps.  If only…

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
