Say It With Me, “Photoshop”
There’s been a lot of talk today over Kim Kardashian’s Complex magazine photo that was leaked onto the internet…un-Photoshopped. Of course it got a lot of press and Kim had to defend her cellulite, but in all honesty, she doesn’t look that bad pre-Photoshop and they really didn’t do that much retouching.
But, I have to admit, seeing that photo did make me feel a lot better about myself and my own skin. Sometimes it’s hard to be a woman and see all these perfect bodies that are covering magazines and flashed across the internet. Even though we know that these celebrities and models are probably Photoshopped, we really never see them any other way than perfect.
I came across this great website of an agency who’s line of work is actually Photoshopping and retouching models and celebrities. It was great to see the before and afters, and I suggest you take a look for yourself at their portfolio to see the photos (just hit on the picture of the celebrity listed on the bottom part of the page and move your mouse over and away from the pic). It just gives us all a little perspective on what’s real and what isn’t…after all, we’re only human.
