Pre de Provence – Rhubarb Shower Butter

Rhubarb Shower Butter
One of my favorite flavors in the world is rhubarb.  I love the sweet tangy scent that it holds and when I ran upon this shower butter on beautyhabit.com I thought I had found my new “it” body wash.  The thought of rhubarb and butter described in the same product seemed like a perfect combination.  I had purchased this product right before my wedding.  I bought a lot of signature products for the big event, things that I wanted to use to make my big day and my honeymoon special.  I wasn’t going to open the body wash until my wedding day, but I couldn’t resist and had to give it a try a week before I left to get married in Mexico.  So glad that I did!  I was so very bummed out when I realized that this huge 500 ml tub wasn’t going to work for me.  The first sign of trouble was when I opened the lid up and saw the consistency of the supposed “butter” like body wash.  The texture was far from butter, it was more like Crisco shortening.  The directions said it would turn into a foamy texture once applied to a washcloth or loufah, but this didn’t happen either.  First, it was very difficult getting any of the product out because of the hard texture, once placed on my loafah it just sat there as I tried to mash it in so it wouldn’t fall out.  I applied water to the loafah and started to scrub away.  The product didn’t foam at all; there was no dreamy lather, just a very low-sudsy film.  I put a considerable amount on my loafah the first time but I barely got my arms and chest area covered in soap.  I gave up after I had done half my body and switched to my Olay Crème Ribbons soap.  Now for $6.99, that stuff is a dream and left my skin very soft and well moisturized, not to mention the nice scent.  I was so sad to admit to myself that the rhubarb shower butter would not be accompanying me to Mexico for my wedding.  That was in May and I’ve probably attempted to use the product once since.  It’s such a hassle and frankly just makes me sick to know that I paid $27.50 on a product that will take me forever to use.

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
