Casey- I know what you mean about giving up the flat iron, it was hard for me to give it up (but I finally did). If you are going to use a flat iron make sure you use a heat protecting spray (I use Tresemme) before you blow dry and then add a protecting product for flat ironing (one you can use on dry hair). I also wanted to mention that if you have a warm setting on your dryer to use that instead of the cold setting. It helps to keep your hair smoother and it's not very damaging. Once you're done drying, blast it with the cold setting to help set your style and to cool off your hair. Good luck!

thanks sarah! i started to only dry my hair with the cool setting, but i can't give up my flat iron! i know it's bad, but my hair looks awful if i don't use it. so i try to make up for it by using a leave-in conditioner every day. i try to get a trim every 10 weeks or so too - it always feels like i'm cutting off what i just grew! lol i'll cross my fingers for that miracle product!

Casey- I promise as soon as I find that magic product, I will post it on here. But, I think the number one thing you need to grow your hair is to have healthy hair...which can mean cutting back on things that damage your hair: blow drying, curling irons, flat irons, coloring, daily washing...things that are hard for most to give up. It's also very important to get frequent trims, something that I don't do b/c it takes so long for my hair to grow. Unless you are blessed with naturally beautiful hair, growing it out can be a pain in the you know what.
