Pretty Peepers

…on the cheap!

I am a drugstore mascara convert.  My days of DiorShow and YSL mascara are long gone.  Why?  Because I would be a fool (ahem, and so would you) to shell out $30 for a mascara, when I can spend under $10 for the same effect.

So, it’s been about two years since I gave up my pricey mascara habit, and opted for thrifty versions of the stuff.  There have been some hits and misses…one very recent catastrophic miss…can you say “eye infection”…can you say “yellow tube”…(can you say “CoverGirl LashBlast”)?  But, overall I have been really pleased with my frugal results and even more pleased that no one has missed the absence of my more expensive lashes (as if).

But, ladies, I think I have found my mascara soul mate by way of Rimmel’s Glam’Eyes  mascara.  Swoon.  I bought this mascara after I read a few reviews online and after I had to forgo mascara and contacts for almost two weeks (LashBlast, Lashblast, Lashblast).  I had seen Glam’Eyes in the store before and was taken by the sweet black and pink packaging that was topped off by a super cute crown, but I had a few reservations of buying a mascara under $6 (alas, my snobbery is not 100% cured).  But, after reading the reviews and after the pain of my eyeball healing, I thought…”what the heck”.

Rimmel Glam’Eyes mascara, you complete me.  Not only is the packaging cute, but the mascara works amazing.  The brush itself is very flexible, allowing for ease in application.  The brush is also curved, which results in lift and curl.  I also love the formula because it gives my lashes great length and it separates.  It also dries really fast and I have had zero problems with flaking.  And come night time, it washes off with ease with my normal cleanser.  Oh yeah, it also hasn’t caused an eye infections, which I sincerely appreciate.

I purchased my tube at Target for under $6 bones…but I have read online that it can go up to $10…which is clearly still a steal.  So, if you want expensive-looking, flirty lashes for under $10 go out and buy Rimmel Glam’Eyes.  If you opt for the yellow tube…don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Do we really need a tutorial on how to open a tube and sweep it on? Maybe if you are going to show us something, make it substantial. Like how to do smokey eyes, or a nice composed look. Next are you going to show us how to apply lip balm?

Coral- if you’d like me to show you how to put on lip balm, it would be my pleasure.

Thanks for the video review! There are actually a lot of women who don’t know the best ways, or even the correct way to apply mascara. I too had eye problems with the CG LashBlast mascara. I will definitely be trying the Rimmel now!

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
