Eczema Relief

Aveeno

This winter has been really rough on my skin.  My hands have been dryer than normal, my cuticles have been rough and I’ve had dry patches on my arms.  I’m diligent about applying hand cream to my hands several times a day, I’ve been paying closer attention to my cuticles and I exfoliate my skin on a weekly basis and apply moisturizer to my skin.  But, for whatever reason I’m still dealing with dry skin.  I’ve never been clinically diagnosed with eczema, but like a lot of people I do get bouts of it from time to time.  A lot of things can trigger eczema such as itchy clothes, certain laundry detergents or heavily fragranced body products (body washes, lotions, perfumes).  I use a ton of different body washes, lotions and perfumes so those could be triggering my skin in this dry weather.  I don’t currently have a mild soap or body wash so I went to Target today to find one.  I ended up buying Dove’s Sensitive Skin body wash because of the price and what it offered.  It promises to be extra mild, soap free, natural fragrance and hypoallergenic.  I really love Dove’s products and at $3.39 it was hard to beat.  I still wanted to check to see if they carried any eczema specific products in case the body wash wasn’t enough for me.  While in the fungal/rash section (no guessing here) I ran across two Aveeno products for eczema.  They had a body wash and body lotion that helped to treat and relieve the symptoms of eczema.  I was really tempted to buy the lotion, but I decided to be frugal and start out with my Dove sensitive skin body wash.  Both bottles were $9 a pop, for 10 oz bottles, so if you really suffer from eczema this is something you might want to try out.  Body products are fun, I for sure love them and probably have more than I can use in a life time, but sometimes it’s good to lay off and put something gentle on your skin.  My regime for the next week will be my Dove body wash and extra helpings of body lotion.  Hopefully this will clear up my dry skin dilemma!

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
