Stila Lip Color: Miranda

Hayden Miranda

I have not worn lipstick in forever.  I quit wearing lipstick after college I believe.  For whatever reason I went from lipstick and lip gloss straight to chapstick.  I think I had a few embarrassing moments with gloss that had gone gooey and I had grown tired of maintaining the reapplication of lip stick and gloss throughout the day.  So, I started buying more lip balms with tints or just plain old chapsticks.  Lately, I’ve missed wearing bright fun colors on my lips.  I would flip through magazines and see bright punches of pink, or nude sheers and I wanted my lips to look the same.  I had thrown out several glosses and lipsticks, so I had to start over in a sense.  My friend in college would always tease me about my lip color selections, she would say they were always in the same pink color family, which they were.  I couldn’t help myself, I loved the look of pink!  But, since I was starting over I decided to really start over and go for a different look.  I had seen this great picture of Hayden Panettiere wearing this gorgeous lip color.  Lucky for me they listed the color as Stila’s lip color in Miranda.  I decided that this would be my new start in reentering the world of lip color.  Tangerine/Pink lips are also a huge trend this year, so it was nice to have lips that were on the cutting edge of style (ha).  I have to say, I was not happy with the results when I first got my lipstick in.  I felt it looked way too orange on me and I was kind of disappointed.  I waited another week to try the lipstick again, and this time I was in love.  The color was perfect on me.  I’m guessing it wasn’t love at first site for me because to be quite honest I wasn’t having a beauty moment that day. I tried it on after I got off work, my hair wasn’t impressing anyone and my makeup was dull at that point because I hadn’t touched it up at all during the day.  Thank goodness for second chances!  Miranda is described as shiny clear sheer, but I would have to differ with this.  I felt that it gave my lips a lot of color, not a thick matte look, but not sheer either.  There wasn’t a ton of shine, but it wasn’t drying at all.  I’m guessing Hayden must be wearing gloss in the picture above.  So, in the end I really love this lipstick and I plan to wear it more often.  I think it’s a lovely color and great for day wear, you might want to wear a color with more punch at night.  The other great thing about this lip color is that anyone can wear it.  I can’t think of a skin tone that this lip color wouldn’t flatter.  As a bonus to all this Stila is offering free shipping on any order for a limited time.  If you’re interested in this lip color, this would be an awesome time to buy!

I’m really in to lip gloss so I will totally check this lipstick out. However, lately I’ve been having a problem finding lip glosses that aren’t too shiny and that actually last for a few hours. Any advice?

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
