Eye Care

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about my future, the future of my skin that is.  I’m one of those people who doesn’t want to get old, I don’t cherish the thought of it at all.  Being 25 I don’t really have too much to worry about, but in 10 years that will be a different story.  Time seems to go by really fast these days and I remember being 15 like it was yesterday, so I’m pretty sure when I’m 35 I’ll think the same about the age 25.  Because of this, I’ve been really conscientious about my skincare.  I’ve started moisturizing my body everyday, applying hand lotion to my hands more often, applying lotion to my neck (one of your body parts that age fast and doesn’t get as much attention), I’ve started a better facial night regime and I make sure to wear sunscreen everyday, something that I’ve done for years.

One thing that I don’t have is a good eye cream.  For about a year I’ve been using Booth’s Grapeseed Eye Serum.  I love all of Booth’s products, they’re based out of Dallas and used to be widely available at Target.  I haven’t seen them as much lately, but you can still find Booth’s online.  I actually got a bunch of great Booth’s products for free when I worked at the buying offices at Nordstrom.  One of the items was their eye serum that I’ve used every morning since.  The only thing is that it’s not an anti-aging serum, it’s more of a depuffing and brightening serum.  So, lately I’ve been on a mission to buy a good anti-aging eye cream.  My initial thought was to go to the drugstore and pick up an eye cream there, but then I saw a coupon for $10 off for any Patricia Wexler product at Bath & Body Works.  I figured she probably had an eye cream and a few days later I actually read a review on her new Intensive 3-in-1 Eye Cream in InStyle’s March issue.  I decided this would be my eye cream and with the coupon it was the same price as most of the drugstore versions.

I bought the eye cream on Friday and used it that night.  Now, I’m not expecting wrinkles to disappear, because I don’t have any.  It’s more of a preventative for me.  When I woke up the next morning my eyes kind of hurt.  I looked in the mirror and my eyes were so puffy.  I figured it was from the eye cream.  I applied the cream just like it said so I have no clue why I had huge puffy eyes.  After an hour my eyes did de-puff but I still was a little concerned about this.  I applied the cream again last night, and low and behold my eyes were puffy again this morning.  I also had a bunch of weird sleep lines in my eye area, which I’m sure was attributed to all the moisture I had under my eyes.  I have no clue why this is happening, maybe this eye cream isn’t for me, or maybe my eyes just need to adjust.  I’m going to give it a little more time and then maybe try something else out if the puffiness continues.  It could be that this stuff is not made for my young eyes, because I’ve heard a lot of good things about the eye cream.  But, as of right now I’m getting the opposite of what I was expecting…puffy eyes aren’t exactly youthful.

Hi – Try a silk charmeuse pillowcase – According to Diana Gross, MD, a dermatologist, we should not be sleeping on cotton pillowcases – it doesn’t allow skin to glide over the surface. Over time, the repeated pressing can lead to permanent creases…on your face. She suggests using a silk charmeuse pillowcase.

You could also try silk eye mask. It softly caresses the delicate skin with essential amino acids, enhancing your bodys natural powers of rejuvenation. It’s ideal for home or travel. Therefore, they are not only a luxurious way of keeping the light out they are healthy and help keep wrinkles at bay. You can find them at http://www.jasminesilk.com.

About Cupcakes Taste Nice

My lust for beauty products has been around since I was a kid. I always wanted the most eye catching packaging and the sweetest scents. As a preteen I could not wait to get my first pimple so that I could try out the different acne products that were marketed to me in magazines and on TV. As I got older I just loved the girlie side of wanting to look and feel pretty. I love taking a shower on Saturday morning and having a plethora of products to choose from depending on my mood that day. I anticipate my beauty and style magazines coming in the mail so I can read and research new products. I even spend hours on the internet searching for factual reviews of the latest and greatest products.
