A Braid Runs Through It
A braided accent is a bit tricky…you can either pull it off, or you can’t. I’m not a huge fan of a big thick braid stuck on top of the head, looks a little milk maidish to me. But, I do like a braid that is a little messy and fits into the hairstyle. I think with the right look braids can look fun and fresh, just try to avoid anything too thick and please stay away from multiple braids…there is a limit!!
I can’t decide if I’m liking Lauren Conrad’s choice of braid. I’m not a huge fan of Lauren, so I’m trying not to focus on her, just the hairstyle itself. I really think her overall hairstyle is a little too perfect for this look. She has super shiny hair, waves and then this small braid running across her hairline. I think she could have mused up her hair a bit for this look, it’s just a little too perfect for me.

I think out of all these different braided styles that Molly Sims rocks it the best. Her braid is fun and I love how it runs into her messy side ponytail. I think this look looks great on her and this would be a perfect style for a night out on the town. I really love this.

Oh Sienna Miller, your braid is way too big and it’s not even your real hair! This was a look she wore to the Golden Globes last year and I hated it then and I hate it now. I think she got quite a bit of flack for this braided look. It’s just too big and too much and her hair just looks messy. I would love to talk about her makeup as well, but I’ll try to stay focused here.

I think Jennifer Connelly and Kristen Dunst pull the braid off well in this picture. It’s a bit on the milk maid side, but it looks modern and fun. Jennifer looks stunning in this picture, and thanks to her dark locks the braid isn’t so in your face. I think Kristen looks nice too. Her braid isn’t perfect and it fits the rest of her hair. I think both ladies pulled off the look well.
I’ve worn braids through my hair in the past and I think it’s a fun look. In high school I had my friend run a wide french style braid up the back of my hair and I would lead it into a ponytail or bun. I always got a lot of compliments on that look. For my senior prom I had a nice braided look down the left side of my hair line leading into an updo. I still have pictures and I really loved the look, I still love it. Much better than some of the poofy do’s I had for other formal events. I think the braided look comes with practice and you might even need some assistance. Just don’t try too hard…play around with your hair and see what you come up with, just keep it simple!!
