Green Machine
I’m a big believer in masks. I have several different formulas to choose from, depending on how my face is behaving. I try to wear a mask twice a week, I really feel that they help with deep cleaning and they help to clear up my skin and they give my face a nice glow. One mask that I buy again and again is Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Masque.
The brand and the formula have been around for years and years and nothing has changed except for the packaging (which doesn’t change often). I first started buying this mask in college, when I was low on cash. I have to be honest, the thing that grabbed my attention was the name Mint Julep. It just seemed very old and southern, kind of like the drink itself. The other thing that sold me was what the product offered, which was to dry up pimples, wash away blackheads and to shrink large pores. I had a bit of a “yeah right” attitude at first, but with a price tag under $5, I was sold.

The best thing about this product is that it proved me wrong. This mask is great at drying up pimples and it did get rid of the blackheads that like to creep up around my nose. I’ve actually had zero blackhead problems since I started using this product. I also liked how it banned my oily skin, but it didn’t over dry. I still use this product as a full face mask, but I also like to use it as a spot treatment on pimples. I’ll usually coat any problem areas with the mask and leave it on for about half an hour. It really helps to clear up a pimple faster. My husband also wears this mask from time to time…sometimes he’ll just ask if I can help him put it on. I kind of think he feels better if I apply the mask, that way it’s something I’m doing to him, instead of him applying it himself. But, who knows?!
I truly believe anyone can take something away from this mask. It also helps with tightening the skin, so someone with aging skin could apply this mask once or twice a week. The absolute best thing about this mask is that anyone can afford it. I’ve only heard and read good things about this product and I think that it should be a part of everyone’s beauty regime.
