The Hills “Red Carpet”
Last night was the season finale of The Hills and they had a huge overdone extravaganza to celebrate it. Nothing was on T.V. last night so my husband and I were left to watch re-runs of The Hills. I watch the show every Monday, I’ll admit it, but even I didn’t know that it was the season finale.
Little did I know when I turned to The Hills last night that I was going to be bombarded with a whole show full of absolute craziness that included a huge Beverly Hills mansion, an annoying Australian host, the even more annoying Canadian hosts of The Hills “After Show”, awkward interviews with the “cast” members that seemed to prove that the show was totally scripted, and I believe the worst part were probably all the fans that showed up to be a part of the unnecessary grandeur. Wait, wait, no…the countdown clock to the final show was BY FAR the most annoying part of the night.
So, they had a red carpet for whatever reason, Heidi and Spencer, two huge players in the series were not present…but the cast members who are in good graces with Lauren were there. I have to say that I was not impressed at all. There was a bunch of hair extensions going on and looks I’ve already seen. Here they are in case you’re interested:

My husband and I decided last night that Lauren Conrad is a mix between Christine Taylor and a man. I’m sorry, but I said it. I’ve never thought that LC was all that gorgeous. I think she might look a little prettier if she didn’t have that uppity bad attitude. I really didn’t like her hair extensions or her part down the middle of her head. I must say that her shoulder length hair flatters her features a lot more. I also think that her eyebrows look a bit over tweezed and her makeup looks on the pageanty side. And her curls? Yeah, I don’t like them either.

*Christine Taylor

I don’t want to give Audrina Patridge too hard of a time because she is the underdog on the show right now, but I wasn’t digging her look either!! It seemed she was going for a bit of a 60’s look with her hair being teased up in the back like that. Audrina was also sporting some long extensions, and they were okay, but not amazing. The same with her makeup, there is no sparkle to her eye, no focus on any part of her face, her makeup is kind of plain all around. I just thought her whole look could have still been young and funky, but not so ho-hum.

Whitney Port is probably my favorite on the show. She seems the least bitchy and I really like her style. She has great doe eyes, porcelain skin and she never comes off to me as being too flashy. I think out of all the girls she got it right last night. She doesn’t seem to be trying too hard, but at the same time she looks put together and fun. Her hair is simple, but still interesting and her makeup is neutral, but her eyes pop. I also thought her hair and makeup really complemented her dress. I think she won the red carpet wars last night.

Ah, Lo Bosworth, Lauren’s faithful sidekick. I have to say that back in the days of Laguna Beach, before The Hills even existed, I had a little bit of a crush on Lo. I thought she was really cute in a mousy kind of way, I loved her hair, her makeup and her simple beachy look. But, since she’s popped back on The Hills I haven’t been in love at all. I feel she’s a bit of a Lauren clone and has taken to the sidekick position and lost her own flair. I think if she upped her game a bit, she could easily kick LC’s ass in the beauty and fashion department. As for last night, she looked okay. Her hair wasn’t that original (I like the color though) and I would have liked to see her prominent cheeks popping with a bit of bright pink blush. All in all, I did like her look better than Lauren’s and Audrina, but not better than Whitney.

Is Audrina . . . simple? Because in every picture I’ve ever seen of her, she is looking *above* the camera, not at it, so she looks–well, dumb.

Even though this is my personal blog, I try to keep things as “nice” as I can. It’s funny that you mention her eyes because they drive me insane…they tend to make her look mildly retarded. There you have, my un-PC comment of the day!

Sorry! I’ll be nicer next time.

Trust me, you don’t need to be sorry! You can say whatever you’d like, and really I can too
